Privacy Policy

Effective April 15, 2026

JellyAmp is built to keep your music library yours. This policy explains exactly what data we store, where it lives, and why. The short version: the only thing that leaves your device is what Apple needs to verify your account and grant you access to the features you paid for.

1. What we collect

When you sign in with Apple

On first launch, JellyAmp asks you to sign in with Apple. Apple returns a stable user identifier and, if you chose to share them, your email address and name. We store:

  • Apple user ID — a random opaque string that identifies your JellyAmp account. We cannot work out your Apple ID or real identity from it.
  • Email address (optional) — if you chose "Share My Email". Used to contact you about account or billing issues.
  • Name (optional) — shown in the app's Settings screen. Never shared.
  • Membership tier — whether your account is on Free, Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime.
  • Last access timestamp — used to distinguish active from dormant accounts.

This data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud Firestore), operated on our behalf. Firebase's privacy is governed by Google's Firebase Privacy & Security.

When you connect to your Jellyfin server

You enter your Jellyfin server URL, username, and password inside JellyAmp. These credentials never leave your device. They're stored in the iOS Keychain and used only to make requests directly from your phone/watch to your Jellyfin server.

When you play music

Everything about what you listen to — track names, album art, playback history, queue contents — stays between your device and your Jellyfin server. JellyAmp does not record, analyse, or transmit your listening behaviour anywhere.

When you make a purchase

Purchases go through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the transaction; JellyAmp only receives the verified receipt so it can unlock features. We do not see your credit card, address, or any billing details.

2. What we don't collect

  • No ad identifiers. JellyAmp has no ads.
  • No third-party analytics tracking individual user behaviour.
  • No contact list, photo library, location, or health data access.
  • No content of your music library. We never see track names, artists, or metadata.
  • No device fingerprinting.

3. How we use the data we do collect

  • To verify your identity on launch so we can load your account.
  • To determine whether your account is entitled to paid features.
  • To sync the same entitlement across your iPhone and Apple Watch.
  • To let us grant manual support (e.g., lifetime upgrades) when necessary.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train machine-learning models.

4. Data retention

Your account record stays in Firebase while your membership is active. If you sign out of Apple inside JellyAmp, your device stops pulling from the record; if you never sign back in, the record is dormant but not automatically deleted.

5. Deleting your data

To delete your JellyAmp data, open the app and go to Settings → Sign Out of Apple. This clears the local Keychain entry and your Jellyfin credentials, and we then mark your record as dormant.

6. Children's privacy

JellyAmp is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

7. Security

Data in transit uses TLS 1.2 or newer. Data in Firebase is encrypted at rest. Jellyfin credentials stored on-device live in the iOS Keychain (hardware-backed when available).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. We'll change the effective date at the top. If the update materially reduces your privacy, the app will show a notice on next launch.
